Yesilkoy in a Nutshell

The Legend of San Stefano
Yesilkoy was called San Stefano till 1926….. It is said that in the 13th century a ship was delivering the relics of Saint Stephens from Constantinople to Rome which was forced to anchor in Yesilkoy due to the Fourth crusade and the relics were kept at a church; because of this, the place, as well as the church got the name.
